Behavior Analysis (BA) is a scientifically based therapy that utilizes principles of learning and behavior to address a range of developmental and behavioral issues. It is widely recognized as an essential treatment for individuals with autism spectrum disorder.
BA can be implemented in various settings including homes, schools, and community environments. A skilled healthcare professional known as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is responsible for delivering BA therapy to children and adults. RBTs assist individuals in developing daily living skills such while also addressing challenging behaviors and social skill deficits.
Board-Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) oversee the work of RBTs to ensure that the therapy is tailored to each individual's unique needs. BCBAs possess advanced degrees in behavior analysis, psychology, or education and are required to pass a national certification examination.
